I am a Data Scientist with a passion for developing validated models of human behaviour, combined with intuitive user interfaces that allow anyone to understand and interact with them.
For the past 2 years I have been working with the City Science group at the MIT Media Lab where I have created predictive models of individual choices, leading to complex urban dynamics such as traffic, residential mobility and use of amenities. These interactive models have been deployed both as stand-alone web-tools and as APIs.
My work applies spatial analysis, machine learning and optimisation with the goal of enabling evidence-based urban planning and design of mobility systems.
I have a PhD in transportation engineering from Trinity College, Dublin. My thesis focussed on modelling of transportation networks and quantifying and optimising the impacts of sustainable transportation interventions.
